There is no cost to students!<\/p>\n<p>Graduates receive an Adult High School Diploma issued by Cape Fear Community College and the New Hanover or Pender County Board of Education. The AHS diploma is the equivalent of any public or private high school diploma and is recognized by employers, colleges, and universities throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>To enroll in the AHS program, follow the steps below:<\/p> <div class=\"pt-3 pt-md-5\">  <div class=\"row center-page px-3 px-md-4\">  <div class=\"d-none d-md-block col-md-3\">  <div class=\"ars cfimgicon-resumes mt-n4\">  <\/div>  <\/div>  <div class=\"col-10 col-md-9\"> <h3><span class=\"text-highlight\">STEP 1<\/span> <span class=\"divider\"><\/span> Prepare for New Student Orientation<\/h3> <\/div> <p>All new students must bring the following documents to orientation. Each course includes<strong> 68 instructional hours<\/strong>, and students must complete a minimum of <strong>64 hours<\/strong> to be eligible for course credit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Face-to-Face Classes<\/strong><br \/>\nIn-person classes are held on <strong>Monday\/Wednesday<\/strong> or <strong>Tuesday\/Thursday<\/strong> from <strong>5:30 PM \u2013 9:30 PM<\/strong> at all available AHS locations.<br \/>\n<strong>Afternoon classes (1:00 PM \u2013 5:00 PM) are offered only at the Downtown Campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Online Classes<\/strong><br \/>\nAHS courses are also available <strong>online<\/strong> through <strong>Edmentum<\/strong>. Online classes follow the same 68-hour format as in-person courses. To earn credit, students must be <strong>actively logged in and participating for at least 64 hours<\/strong> during the nine-week session. <\/div>  <\/div>  <div class=\"pt-3 pt-md-5\">  <div class=\"row center-page px-3 px-md-4\"> <h4>Graduation Requirements<\/h4>\n<p>To earn an <strong>Adult High School Diploma<\/strong>, students must complete a total of <strong>22 credits<\/strong> in the following subject areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English \u2013 4 credits<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics \u2013 4 credits\n<ul>\n<li>Math I, Math II, Math III, and one additional math course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Science \u2013 3 credits\n<ul>\n<li>Earth Science, Biology, and Physical Science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Social Studies \u2013 4 credits\n<ul>\n<li>World History, American History, Civics, Economics and Personal Finance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Health\/Physical Education \u2013 1 credit\n<ul>\n<li>Must include CPR certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Electives \u2013 6 credits<\/li>\n<\/ul> <\/div>  <\/div>  <div class=\"pt-3 pt-md-5 bg-light\">  <div class=\"row center-page px-3 px-md-4\">  <div class=\"d-inline\"> <h4>Official AHS Transcripts<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>To request an official AHS transcript:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> <a href=\"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/academic-career-readiness\/adult-high-school-transcript-request-form\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Complete the AHS Transcript Request Form <\/a> <\/li>\n<li>Follow the directions on the form for paying the required transcript fee.<\/li>\n<li>Each AHS transcript costs $5.00. The $5.00 fee is waived for any student entering other CFCC programs.<\/li>\n<\/ol> <\/div>  <\/div>  <\/div>  <div class=\"pt-3 pt-md-5\">  <div class=\"row center-page px-3 px-md-4\"> <h4>Diplomas<\/h4>\n<p>Once graduated, students will be called and must pick up their diplomas from the AHS office in S-110.
